Maestra Pearce Music

Originally from Bristol, UK, Christina Pearce moved to Sweden in 2010 and set up her own business in 2015 based in Stockholm. Christina has a BA (hons) degree in classical music plus a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education.) In both the UK and Sweden Christina has developed her pedagogy through many years of experience teaching in the classroom, as a peripatetic woodwind/piano tutor (ages 5 – 18 years old) and through teaching privately (ages 8 -82 years old!)

Conductor of ABFs Blåsorkester. Assistant Conductor of Stockholms Blåsorkester and Södertälje Symfoniorkester. Previously Conductor of Svenska Järnvägars Musikkår.

Principal alto sax in Stockholms Blåsorkester. Previously Principal clarinet in Södertälje Symfoniorkester. Freelance musician playing clarinet and saxophone in orchestras and bands also a freelance conductor/band leader for functions and events.

Experienced player in various ensembles such as clarinet quartet, saxophone quartet, mixed folk music ensembles, saxophone player in various jazz big bands. Studied traditional Swedish folk music for 2 years full-time at Birka Folkhögskola in Jämtland. Performance credits include several musical productions such as West Side Story, Fame, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Wizard of Oz – to name a few.

Christina is a passionate music teacher with a lot of experience. A generous helping of good humour ensures her students enjoy individual tuition which is both informative and fun. Lessons are available in English or Swedish.

Currently teaching clarinet, saxophone, piano and music theory at a cosy music studio in Vasastan. Tuition is also available via Skype and Zoom. Welcome!
